James 4:8

Yesterday, I asked YEAR 27 followers to share ONE VERSE that they would love to be able to give the Ehty people. My friend Ashley Upchurch said she would share either James 4:8 or Jeremiah 29:11. So I’ll share those two verses with you this week — one today and one tomorrow! Powerful!

879 verses = number of verses in the Book of John = our goal for Bible translation here at YEAR 27. Today we have translated a total of 63 verses! This is awesome!! My desire is to be under the 800 verse mark by the end of March. This means that 16 verses would need to be sponsored before the end of March. Let’s do this!

Silent Sunday – Something Different

I know that every other day of the week on YEAR 27 is way more exciting than Silent Sunday. Why is Silent Sunday so…silent? Because Silent Sunday has no verse. God’s Word isn’t doodled in a cute little square with bright colors on Silent Sunday. For the Ehty people in South Asia, Silent Sunday is also Silent Monday, Silent Tuesday, Silent Wednesday, Silent Thursday, Silent Friday and Silent Saturday. I’m bummed about this truth today. I’ve been reading through the book of John this year, and a verse that stood out to me this morning was John 15:11.

“These words I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.” – John 15:11

Nope, they don’t have those words in the heart language of the Ehty people. Not a single one! And THAT is why we are helping to translate the Bible here at YEAR 27.

Let’s do something a little different today. If you were able to share ONE VERSE of scripture with the Ehty people in South Asia…what would that ONE VERSE be? Share it with us! And then, let’s turn that scripture into prayer for the Ehty people.
